Ich hab das Buch in einem Tag fertig gelesen, Ali Hazelwoods Humor hat mich mal wieder überzeugt. Die Ausführlichkeit in der das Biologiestudium und der Weg in der Forschung beschrieben wird ist wirklich Hammer.Olive ist auf der Suche nach einem Heilmittel für Pankreaskrebs und studiert dafür Biologie an der Stanford Universität. Aufgrund von komplizierten, selbst herbeigeführten Zufällen sieht sie sich gezwungen eine Beziehung mit dem arroganten aber kompetenten Adam vorzutäuschen. Sie verlieben sich, natürlich, aber der Weg dort hin ist äußerst unterhaltsam. Außerdem findet sie sich plötzlich in einer Situation wieder die viele Frauen im STEM Bereich erlebt haben - sie wird von einem Mann unter Druck gesetzt mit ihm zu schlafen um weiter aufzusteigen, er degradiert sie und ihre Leistungen und schüchtert sie ein. Mit Hilfe ihrer Freunde (und einem zufälligen Video) konfrontiert sie ihn und Adam darf mit ihm den Boden wischen. Es ist nicht nur eine Liebesgeschichte sondern auch eine Geschichte über Freundschaft, Loyalität und thematisiert ein Thema was nicht oft thematisiert wird: Demisexualität. Beide Protagonisten (so hatte ich den Eindruck) sind demisexuell - also spüren erst primäre sexuelle Anziehung nach dem sie sich sehr emotional verbunden fühlen.Alles in allem 10/10 - auch wenn Teile der Story ein wenig klischeehaft sind - ich liebe Klischees.
