Nette Story
Den Autor kante ich bis dahin nicht.
Die Idee im Klappentext hat mich neugierig gemacht. Das hörte sich nach einer witzigen Idee für eine romantische Komödie an.
Er hat sich von ihr getrennt. Sie leidet darunter. Nun treffen sich die beiden mit ihren Freunden zu einem letzten gemeinsamen Urlaub inklusive Heirat eines Pärchens. Um ihnen all das nicht zu vermiesen, einigen sich die beiden darauf, ihren Freunden noch das glücklich verlobte Paar vorzuspielen.
Die Protagonisten kommen für mich ziemlich oberflächlich und schicky-mlcky-mässig rüber. Alle sind toll, sexy und reich. Erzählt wird aus Sicht der weiblichen Hauptperson. Streckenweise fand ich die Story etwas lahm und sie zog dahin. Am interessantesten fand ich noch die Rückblicke in die Zeit, in der sich die beiden kennen- und liebengelernt haben. Als Urlaubslektüre aber bestimmt zu empfehlen.
Das cover mag ich sehr. Es versprüht gute Laune.

Heimlich getrennt
Happy Place von Emily Henry geht ans Herz.
Harriet und Wyn sind für alle das Traumpaar schlechthin.
Seit 6 Monaten gehen sie getrennte Wege, trauen sich aber nicht ihren Freunden die Wahrheit zu sagen. Jetzt trifft sich die Clique wie schon oft in einer Hütte in Maine:
Da die Hütte ihren Besitzer wechselt wird es das letzte Treffen dort sein.
Also entschließen sie sich eine weitere Woche ein Paar zu spielen um ihre Freunde nicht zu enttäuschen.
Eine Woche Auszeit mit Freunden und gutem Essen kann schließlich nicht so schwierig sein.
Doch sie müssen sich nicht nur ein Zimmer sondern auch ein Bett teilen.
Ob es Harriet und Wyn gelingen wird eine weitere Woche vor den Freunden das verliebte Paar zu spielen?
Die Geschichte wird aus der Sicht von Harriet erzählt.
Sie ist seit vielen Jahren mit Wyn zusammen. Die Trennung hat sie in ein tiefes Loch fallen lassen.
Noch nicht einmal ihren Freunden erzählt sie davon. Ich denke sie will es selbst nicht wahr haben.
Mir ist Harriet schnell sympathisch gewesen.
Wyn und die anderen Charaktere lernt man durch ihr Miteinander und den Unterhaltungen auch gut kennen.
Auch diese Charaktere sind mit sympathisch.
Die Geschichte spielt in zwei Zeitebenen. Einmal die Gegenwart in der Hütte und einmal die Vergangenheit von Harriet und Wyn bis zu dem Punkt wo sie wieder aufeinandertreffen.
Emily Henry führt die Charaktere gekonnt durch die Geschichte. Der Weg den die Autorin den Protagonisten bereitet ist manchmal recht steinig.
Man hofft immer wieder, dass Harriet und Wyn wieder zusammenkommen.
Doch oft scheint es aussichtslos.
Die Autorin beschreibt die Handlungsorte sehr anschaulich. Auch wenn man noch nicht vor Ort war meint man alles genau vor seinem Auge zu sehen.
Mit viel Charm und Humor führt Emily Henry ihre Leser*innen durch die Geschichte.
Dabei ist ihr Schreibstil Locker und leicht.
Happy Place ist ein Liebesroman genau richtig für den Sommer.
