Adrien Markos, a crime scene investigator, has always been in control of his life, until now. A strange man (Gabriel) suddenly appears informing him that he has been chosen to save the world from evil and destruction. If that isn't enough, a beautiful blue-eyed woman comes to him in a dream and turns his world upside-down. The newfound destiny takes him to new places and opens his mind to a whole new world filled with mystical powers, vampires and demons. Along his journey, he is encountered by a gorgeous blonde (Luna) that forces him into eternal life. The immortal life of a vampire. How can he save the world from evil when he has become evil himself? As he struggles with his changing body, he discovers that the beauty (Kassandra) haunting his dreams is real and that she, too, is a vampire. But she belongs to another man (Alexandor), the same man that Adrien must defeat in order to save the world.
Another man, Julius, is encountered by Gabriel and is convinced to help find and kill Luna. Adrien learns that Julius has deceived them by agreeing to deliver Gabriel and Kassandra to Alexandor with the promise of Kassandra's hand in return. Julius feels guilty and helps Adrien rescue them by going to Luna's coven. When they arrive, Adrien discovers that Luna has kidnapped Kassandra and has taken her to Alexandor. He rushes off to save her, leaving Gabriel and Julius alone with Lunas charm--the offspring of Luna and Alexandor. Gabriel orders Julius to take the child into hiding. Gabriel realizes that it is time to for battle and summons the Others for help.
Adrien finds Kassandra in an old cemetary, where she has been badly beaten and her powers drained from her by a menacing demon, Annie. Gabriel and the Others arrive at the cemetary and the battle between good and evil begins. Adrien soon learns that he cannot save the world and be with Kassandra, too. Will he accept his fate and take his place as the Chosen One? Or will he choose to make his fate?
