Peter Pan is a classic story, originally written in 1904 as a stage play and in 1911 as a novelization by Scottish author J. M. Barrie. It tells of the adventures of a little boy named Peter who refuses to grow up. In the book, Peter meets many exotic people and creatures. He also encounters the vengeful pirate Captain James Hook, with whom he has an ongoing rivalry. It has been adapted into numerous films, both animated and live-action, and has also inspired numerous sequels, both literary and cinematic.
