Time is Complicated

"It's much more complicated than it appears, Ben." Peter stood once more, gesturing for Ben to follow, going over to one of the papers on the wall. "This is one of my many attempts to find a way to stop them, by going back to a point before they existed, in the hope we might be able to undo he damage before it can be done.

"Unfortunately every time I try it I create a new paradox. Trying to stop them may well cause more problems than it solves. At the same time I know I need to keep in mind how everyone views me, because I know it's entirely possible they'll make the decision to remove me. Then all I can do is hope the person who takes my position doesn't end up destroying us all."
