Between the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, Michel Houellebecq became the center of two controversies. On the one hand, the philosopher Michel Onfray did an interview with him: in it the author expressed opinions about the Islamization of Europe and the hypothetical violent reactions that this would cause, and also seemed to link Muslims to street crime. The rector of the Grand Mosque of Paris threatened to file a lawsuit for incitement to hatred. The other controversy is related to his participation in a project by the Dutch art collective Kirac, which ended up leaving Kirac 27, which was advertised on the internet as a pornographic film starring Houellebecq. The author felt cheated, so he went to court to try to prevent the dissemination of the tape. These pages serve to clarify both controversies and shed light on the most difficult months.
