I was waiting for this story since their first appearance in the Adair series, and I'm so happy to have this story right in my hands.
The writing is as always fluid even for non native reader. We read the story from both POV's (Callie and Lewis) in the first person, which helps me to be more engaged to the main characters, and I am.
I loved to realize how Lewis and Callie evolved through all these books and times. We got to know them as children, and now their all grown ups. I thought it important to get this little flashbacks of their story in their PoV and to make me realize their own thoughts and understand their reactions.
I like to remember their resembling to their parents. How much their learned from them and acted on that.
The chemistry and love for each other are so palpable on every page that I was instantly involved in their story. I couldn't put this book away, not even for a second.
I'm still hoping for my Lewis out there. Now even more.
I'm not forgetting to tell you, that's spice on these pages, too. Just in case. And a little thrill, too.
What I also loved in this book is the reappearances of the known characters of the Adair - and Highland-series. Walker has it in him. I will not spoil you, but wait for chapter 13, and you know what I mean. It's kiss chef greatness.
I can't wait for Eilidh's story after all that little eastereggs.
Conclusion
A spicy second chance love story so sweet your teeth and heart will agree.

Info:
This is book 5 of the Highland-series, which could be read individually but I strongly recommend to read all the books of the series (Adair and Highland) for a better understanding.
