When you think it can't get better, Samantha teaches you differently
Oh my gosh! I love this story, and Jared and Allegra. Simply all in this book!
Starting with the writing: It's easy to follow and hook one from page one. Even for a non native english speaker. And is written from both POV's from the I-speaker.
There's a lot of tension, I mean the good one with all the spice within. Because they could get hot. Not lying here.
The protagonists: Jared and Allegra.
They're really reliable to me, there's all the feels and I was desperately hoping for their best outcome and yes the spice.
Both have a unique voice that captivated me from the very beginning. This story is now deep in my heart. I didn't know I was missing it till I read it.
The plott: It's mainly about the evolution between Jared and Allegra. I like how they'd change throughout the book. The fact of trusting someone else and finding a foundation for true love in becoming friends.
The subplot: As all books in the Adair- and Highland-series, there's a clever subplot about a little crime going on. I was surprised in the end, is all I can say. Mostly, I got it right from the beginning. This time, I did not. Well done!
Conclusion:
A romance full of spice and tension between two people that might not have anything in common but needed desperately a marriage of convenience. This story is ready to blow your mind completely (for the good).
Stars: 5/5

Info:
My best read of the year so far!
This is the 4th book of the Highland-series and can be read as a standalone.
I've got an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review, which has not influenced my opinion on this book.
