Better than part one of the series, but somehow I can't understand the hype.
After finishing the second book in the Caraval-Series I really don't know if I will ever read the third and final book. About two weeks or so ago I finished the first novel and I thought, that I don't really like the protagonist Scarlett. So when I realize that the protagonist of the second novel is her little sister Donatella I hoped, that I'll like her more than Scarlett and in the first part of the book I definitely kind of felt the hype. Tellas reasons seemed more comprehensible. The game Caraval again is the background of the story, Tella found out, that their mother Paloma is still alive and she hopes to find her after having won the games. And she found a few destiny cards. What I really didn't like was the relationship between the sisters. I mean - they grew up together not only as sisters but as best friends forever. They knew everything and now after knowing about how hard and dangerous Caraval can be, they both didn't talk at all. And I also didn't like the development of the characters. Scarlett was described as shy and loving just this one man during the first novel and 90% of the second novel. But at the end of part two she has other plans and I really can't understand it - it makes so sense. Also the mystery of Legend was solved, but I didn't liked it.Well, I'll stop the series at this point.
