This novel narrates the adventures and dangers of the sailor Robinson Crusoe. He finds himself shipwrecked on a desert island where he ends up spending more than two decades of absolute solitude. He only has one tool to survive and build a new world from scratch: his own two hands.
Daniel Defoe is considered the father of the British novel. In 1719, he published Robinson Crusoe, his most well-known novel.
