Interessante Erzählstruktur, fragwürdige zeitliche Abläufe
Ich bin ein Fan von Kriminalgeschichten. Die originale von Holmes und auch viele weitere Geschichten um den Charakter habe ich gelesen oder als Audio - book rauf und runter gehört
Darum landete dieses Buch in meinem waren Korb.
Die Charaktere wie Holmes, Watson und Moriarty werden gut dargestellt. Die Geschichte ist fesselnd und bietet durchaus ein paar Höhepunkte. Außerdem gefällt mir die Erzählstruktur die etwas von der Erzählweise der originale, aus der Sicht von Dr. Watson, abweicht, bzw. eine Variation bietet.
Die Orte der Handlung sind interessant. Die Charaktere werden glaubwürdig dargestellt.
Auch wenn mir das Ende der Geschichte gefällt so stoßen mir einige Entscheidungen des authors sauer auf. Der Wirkliche Ablauf wirkt im letzten Ende mehr als fragwürdig.
So müssten die Charaktere um Holmes zwar unter Zeitdruck stehen, aber es wirkt als würden die Gegenspieler herumsitzen ohne aktiv zu werden. Und das in einer Gegend die wenig Spielraum für Versteckspiele bietet.
Aktionen der Hauptcharaktere bleiben ohne Konsequenzen und scheinen entweder ignoriert oder schlicht nicht bemerkt zu werden. Stichwort Lüftungsschacht...
Dieses Buch hat im Kern alles was gute Sherlock Holmes Geschichten auszeichnen. Am Ende übernimmt sich der Autor aber und übersieht Dinge, die für den Spannungsaufbau essenziell sind.
Eine gute Geschichte die zu großen Teilen spannend ist, aber Schwachstellen aufweist die von Unerfahrenheit oder terminalen Zeitdruck Zeugen.
Ich wollte Spoiler vermeiden, sonst hätte ich es genauer eingegrenzt.
