Over the last 15 years, two new components in THA emerged, addressing downsides of traditional implants and techniques. It became obvious that minimally-invasive approaches and short and rounded femoral implants in combination will be highly beneficial for us as orthopaedic surgeons but in particular for our patients. Karl Philipp Kutzner (M.D., Ph.D.) is a renowned German orthopaedic surgeon and scientist, highly specialized in hip arthroplasty. As one of the most experienced experts in short-stem total hip arthroplasty in Germany, he has conducted and published many scientific studies, regularly gives lectures and provides education for colleagues and patients. He is a Professor for orthopaedics at the Johannes-Gutenberg-University of Mainz and is the founder and owner of the ENDOPROTHETICUM, a highly specialized arthroplasty center in Mainz, Germany.
