Raised in Las Vegas, Alan moved to the Pacific Northwest to attend Oregon State University, and then made Olympia, WA his home. After a career in Information Technology, he turned his life-long love for the written word into a series of rhyming children's books. Alan's unique niche in the children's book market is fictional zany stories about bugs, written in catchy rhyme, with an appeal to both children and adults. His series of Bug Rhymes stories bring a unique and fun perspective to bugs that most people consider pests: fleas, mosquitoes, bedbugs .... Alan is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) and the Pacific Northwest Writers Association (PNWA). He is also coordinator of the 100+ member Olympia Writers Group. Alan's story, Ned and Ted, about two bedbug bicycle cops on the trail of a bed burglar, won 2nd Place in the Children's category of the PNWA 2015 Literary Contest.
