"Alice's Adventures in Wonderland", widely beloved British children's book by Lewis Carroll, published in 1865.
Though the book was not hugely successful at its time, it's become widely regarded as a masterpiece of children's literature, admired for its imaginative characters and ridiculous plot. The book has been adapted to a number of different genres and platforms, and a sequel, "Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There", followed six years later.
The story centres on Alice, a young girl who falls asleep in a meadow and dreams that she follows the White Rabbit down a rabbit hole. She has many wondrous, often bizarre adventures with thoroughly illogical and very strange creatures, often changing size unexpectedly...
