Ich habe Audrey Rose und Thomas bereits in Band 1 ins Herz geschlossen, aber hier in Band 2 war es nochmal so viel besser. Audrey Rose ist eine für das Jahr 1888 sehr unabhängige, selbstbestimmte und starke Frau. Ich finde sie einfach großartig und liebe, was sie tut und wie sie durch das Leben geht. Und dass sie in Thomas einen ebenbürtigen Begleiter gefunden hat, der ihre Unabhängigkeit so sehr liebt und schätzt, macht mich umso glücklicher. Denn Thomas ist für mich einer der liebsten Buchcharaktere geworden. Er hat einfach so viel Charme, Witz und Intelligenz an den Tag gelegt, dass ich jede Szene, in der er vorkam, absolut geliebt habe. Die Dynamik zwischen den beiden hat das Buch für mich zu einem kleinen Highlight gemacht. Da war die eigentliche Story schon fast hintergründig. Es war mir fast egal, was sonst noch passiert, solange die beiden den Mysterien gemeinsam gegenüber treten. Dennoch fand ich die Story rund um Graf Dracula sehr gelungen, wenn auch wenn ich den Plot teilweise etwas plump und als nicht 100%ig durchdacht empfand. Insgesamt hatte ich aber unglaublich viel Freude beim Lesen. Audrey Rose und Thomas haben mich über die offenen Fragen zum Plot hinwegsehen lassen und mich einfach total verzaubert.
