Originally from a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Cándidie became a performer by the age of five. She turned professional at the age of twelve. Having appeared in several children's theatre touring companies she was appointed director of a children's production at the age of seventeen. Thereafter, she studied at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and the The Juilliard School in New York City where she starred in William Inge's "Bus Stop."
Following commercials, repertory theatre, industrial films, road shows and ultimately teaching she turned to the visual arts and writing. Cándidie has answered to commission opportunities in the mid-west and the south. Galleries in those areas have welcomed her artwork.
She has written and illustrated four (4) books. "Emily and the Sea Creatures," "Send Cardinals," "Windswept," and her latest book entitled "Boots."
